Upon graduation in Spring 2010, Patrick Chevier, a 21-year old from Fort Jackson, New York, hopes to pursue a career in warehouse management and long lead-time parts. "After doing research with Dr. Farzad Mahmoodi during my first summer at Clarkson University, I quickly fell in love with the complex puzzle that is material handling. I love the challenges that arise and the techniques used to solve those problems and fit the pieces together in the most efficient way possible," says the interdisciplinary engineering and management major. At the MHEDA Convention, Chevier hopes to "see material handling in a new light and learn new techniques for managing the supply chain."

Eric Wickstrom, 27, graduates this Spring from the logistics program at The University of Tennessee, after which the Knoxville, Tennessee, native
will seek a career in logistics procurement. "Material handling is a core function of nearly every business. Through improvements in technology,
material handling provides a firm's supply chain with efficiency and responsiveness," he says. Wickstrom became interested in material handling
during an operational logistics and management course with Dr. Lloyd Rinehart, which included facility tours and completion of a facility design project
for a sugar transfer and repackaging company. Wickstrom is eager to attend Convention. "I look forward to seeing new technologies and meeting the
best and the brightest in the field," he says.
